My name is Michalene Kosinski. In 2002, when my husband, Dan and I opened the Antiques And Collectibles Mall of New England in Greenville, N.H., it started with 2500 square feet of space in one large room of an old 1880's grain mill in the quaint little town just north of the Massachusetts border. When we bought the building, most of it had been vacant and used mainly for storage since 1991. I remember painting the main room on the first floor while it was raining hard one day, and I decided to bring a wastebasket up to the second floor in case we had a leak. We had leaks everywhere! I needed several 33-gallon trash cans to catch what was coming in. Then I went to the other end of the building and found the same thing happening there. I wondered if we had bitten off a little too much, but somehow, with the help of many friends, we managed to deal with it and move on. We are so fortunate. Many nice people have pitched in to help with building repairs, merchandise displays, distribution of our brochures and word-of-mouth advertising, parking lot maintenance, furniture moving and delivery and so much more. We never could have expanded so much without their help. When we first opened we had lots of teacups and not much else. The teacups were from my personal collection, simply because we had neither the time nor the funds to stock the store once we made the major repairs to the building so that we could open to the public. Now we've expanded the store to include about 10,000 square feet in three huge rooms on two floors. We have added a handicapped bath, and a ramp for access to the main floor, and the major roof leaks have been fixed, allowing for substantial expansion of the shop. We attribute our success to our great prices, wide selection, aggressive advertising, friendly people, and excellent service. People have fun shopping with us, and they tell their friends and family. We've had people tell us "I had such a great time here last week that I had to bring my sister/mother/friends back." We've grown to over 100 dealers and consigners, and people travel from all over New England and beyond to visit our shop now. We carry everything now, from teacups and linen to complete dining room and bedroom sets. Our inventory includes a large selection of tables, chairs of all kinds, desks, commodes, china cabinets, bureaus, country cupboards, coat racks, servers, china, pottery, signs, glass, gold, silver and costume jewelry, watches, vintage clothing and accessories and linen, art, tools, kitchen items, sports photos and cards, coins, toys and postcards. We have cameras, dolls, compacts, lighters, mirrors, beaded purses, dollhouses and dollhouse furniture, lamps, military collectables, tools, banks, musical instruments and sheet music, garden accessories, books and bookends, clocks, silver, chandeliers, bottles, and much, much more. We regularly e-mail newsletters to our customers announcing a sampling of the new merchandise in the store. We also post a copy on the events page of this website. To see the most current newsletters and scheduled events please click "events" in the menu at the top of this page. The community has had a lot of fun watching the building and the business transform from a small one-room shop to a huge 10,000 square foot store with everything from soup to nuts. Everyone in the shop enjoys meeting new customers, learning about what they collect, and calling them or emailing them when something they seek comes into the store. Dealers and collectors visit our shop frequently because of the excellent service, wide selection and great prices. Many people come to the area for a day of antiquing and dining. We are located directly beside the new Panda Wok Chinese restaurant, around the corner from Hearts Desire Bakery, and only a few miles from the Birchwood Inn, Pickity Place, and Parker's Maple Barn. Both the Birchwood Inn and Pickity Place are known for their gourmet dining, and Pickity Place is the setting for the Little Red Riding Hood story. Parker's Maple Barn is known throughout the area for its fantastic breakfasts. Just 15 minutes to the south, visitors can enjoy Delaney's famous clock shop, Hobart Village Antique Mall, and Antique Associates in Townsend Massachusetts. Five miles to the north is the new White Home Collections shop and the pretty town of Wilton, New Hampshire. A few minutes further there are several shops in Milford and Amherst. The Antiques And Collectibles Mall of New England is at the intersection of Main Street, Old Wilton Road, and New Hampshire's scenic route 45. We are just off of route 31 in Greenville, New Hampshire. Please see the "Find Us" link at the top of this page for hours, map and driving directions. |
